WEEK 3: LED’S AND PHOTOSHOP

WOOD, SUPERGLUE, PARCHMENT PAPER, HOT GLUE, WHITE LEDS, YELLOW LEDS, BATTERY

After soldering my 4 LED’s to a battery pack I began to design the lantern shape. Using Adobe Illustrator I designed a box with cutouts utilizing the dimensions 2x2x4. My original cardboard model was 4x4x8, however at this size the light wasn’t reaching all sides so I decided to downsize. After designing the box I used the laser cutter to create the cuts in a piece of 1/8 plywood. After gathering all my pieces I realized that the light wasn’t defusing behind the parchment paper so I created a dome out of hot glue for the LED’s to sit in. After defusing the light I fed the wires through a hole in the bottom of the lantern and superglued all the sides together.

My workspace mess filled with scissors, glue gun, LEDs, wood, wax paper, and super glue.

IMAGES, PHOTOSHOP, ANIMATION

Using photoshops video animation feature, I created a short children’s story using hand drawn and photographed elements of my stuffed animals.
